It is due to the continuous of trade war between the U.S and China, the famous polycrystalline silicon producer REC Silicon fired around 100 employees of its factory in Washington State. If the path to enter China’s market is still blocked in the foreseeable future, the factory will also be planned to be shut down then.
REC Silicon indicates that the trading negotiation between China and America is continuing, the factory has assigned a few employees to maintain the corresponding devices and may launch the manufacturing equipment of polycrystalline silicon. However, they do not mention the specific number of employees.
