WACKER to Expand Specialty Silicones Business with New Production Facility in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic

"WACKER, a leading global producer of silicone products, is expanding its specialty silicones business by planning to construct a new silicone production facility in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The new production site is expected to commence operations by the end of 2025 and is projected to create up to 200 job opportunities in the initial phase. The Karlovy Vary production base will primarily focus on the production of room-temperature vulcanizing specialty silicones, with future plans to also produce high-temperature vulcanizing silicone mixtures. This strategic expansion is aimed at meeting the increasing demand for silicones in key sectors such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, and grid expansion.

Dr. Christian Kirsten, a member of WACKER's board, emphasized the significance of the new production base, stating that it will serve as a crucial pillar for WACKER's silicone business in Europe. The company aims to optimize production processes and offer reliable and efficient silicone solutions to its customers.
