In the last two articles, we have introduced four types of organic silicone coatings and they are proved to be effective in different specific industries. Today we will continue to introduce the ones that have good effectiveness in real industries.
Waterproof Humidity Resistance Coating
Organic silicon coating has very low surface tensile strength, it has very excellent cold resistance, heat resistance, elasticity and weather resistance. This is why it could be used widely as waterproof and humidity resisting coating and it is always satisfying. The main reason why concreate and brick structure building is broken due to the invasion of water. It is to extend the product life of buildings, it is the best to use some kind of waterproof material on the building surface is the one that could avoid any invasion from water and allows the inner humidity to be released. Silicone resin is the most proper coating that could fulfill the requirements mentioned above. To use silicone oil waterproof humidity resistance coating to process the building could prevent the penetration from rains and extend its product life. It effective product life could be around 10 – 15 years.
Organic silicon construction waterproof coating is also called construction waterproof agent, it has excellent waterproof, weatherproofing, peeling resistance and chemical corrosion resistance.
The waterproof mechanism of organic silicon construction waterproof agent is different from the common waterproof materials like organic coatings and asphalt. Organic coating and asphalts are to fill the slots of bricks or concreate structure materials to prevent this, it is a physical way; organic silicon construction waterproof agent is to make chemical reactions with structural materials and to form some insoluble waterproof resin slim films. It is due to the organic construction waterproof agent does not block the narrows between the construction materials. Therefore it works effective and could keep the breathable property well. It is the best advantage the waterproof agent has. The buildings which have been processed by organic silicon construction building agents could be kept clean and non-dusted. This could increase building’s heat isolation and noise isolation. It could prevent the breaches from building from the being frozen. It could also prevent the building from weathering to extend product using life.
The effectiveness of organic silicon building waterproof agent on the protection of buildings reply on the dry degree, penetration depth, UV resistance and alkaline resistance.
Nuclear Radiation Resistance Coating
In nuclear technology field, nuclear reactors and nuclear power station devices and equipment are easy to be influenced by the pollutions of uranium and other radioactive elements. Therefore, they are needed to be decorated and protected by high radiation pollution resistance coating. However, to compare the coatings used in these special cases with general coatings, besides the same basic requirement, there are some extra higher requirements are needed. The first thing is the coating must be able to resist nuclear radiations, and it is needed to be cleaned easily. The coatings on the storage pipes of nuclear materials and transportation pipes must have excellent chemical corrosion properties and absorb radiation ray to avoid the environment near the radiation source to be polluted. In the Level 1 Accident Prevention Zone, the coating must be able to be exposed in extreme conditions and must pass the steam environment test in high temperature and high pressure. The coating layer needs also to be endured the cumulative radiation rate in high temperature.
With the effects from high power radiation ray, the chemical keys in molecules breach, so not all coating could be used as radiation resistance coating.
Organic Silicon Thermochromic Coating
It is since the oil, chemical engineering, fertilizers, metaling, aerospace and some other industries are developing rapidly, the high-temperature devices get on fire or explode are always happening due to be overheated. The general temperature detector could only detect partly overheating point and could reflect the whole device’s condition. Therefore, to apply organic silicon thermochromic coating could reduce the chance.
Organic silicon thermochromic coating could use pure silicone resin as the base material, to add color change pigments, heating resisting filler, preservatives, flame retardants and curing agents. It is according to the color change range of pigments, we could make different types of thermochromic coating that have different warning degrees. It has better overheating warning and inflaming properties. It has been widely used oil, chemical engineering and some other industries’ devices.
Some space crafts need to experience extremely cold of hot environments, and the time may be from a few days to a few years. However, the structure of universal spaceships and the inner devices may not endure such a terrible temperature environment change. By coat the coatings on the surface of aircrafts to change their thermal physical properties could control the temperature of controlled objects effectively during the thermal switches of radiations. The layer is called temperature controlling coating layer or thermal controlling coating layer. To match the coating layer with heat conduction and heat isolation materials properly, to coordinate the inner and outside of aircrafts’ thermal switches properly to ensure the inner devices and tablets will not have a working temperature that out of range is the main effect of temperature controlling coating layer.
Plastic Protection Organic Silicon Coating
Organic silicon coating material has excellent weather resistance, water resistance, UV resistance, electrical isolation and humidity resistance. To plasticize it on the surface of plastics could improve the surface and the decoration and also improve its durability to extend its product life.
Among these, methyl organic silicone resin liquid that carries highly crosslinking has the properties like transparency and hardness. It could be used as the protective layer of transparent materials and the layer has strong light penetration. It is widely used in organic glass wind shields of cars and aircrafts.
