There are many chemicals and types of silicone oil could be used in textile industry, the main one we introduced is the dimethyl silicone oil, it is one of the main types of linear silicone oil in today’s industry world.

Later, we continue to introduce the applications and some mechanism on how the silicone oil is used to grant certain required and effective physical & chemical properties on sewing thread and also other raw materials to tailoring or clothes. We have also made a small video on describing how the textile silicone oil processing step looks like. Silicone oil is usually used as different types of silicone oil textile auxiliaries which could be divided to blocking agents, softeners, lubricant, additives and many subcategories.

In the last week, we are taking two factual examples to impress the audiences more. We have mentioned Bangladesh and Turkey which are two of major global textile importation & exportation nations. These two countries’ textile industries both have large scales but they have significant differences. Bangladesh is a developing nation and its fabric industry has strong dependence on its huge population, some relevant chemical materials are hard to be produced domestically and these materials are usually imported from E.U., the U.S, Japan, China and some other nations. However, it has a very large importation & exportation quantity and value and its number is one of the top 3 in the world. Turkey has a more diverse textile industry and has better industrial chain- which means many of its materials could be made locally. However, it is since the population of Turkey is not that many and if we check each subcategory of its textile industry, each subcategory has a relatively small value and quantity to compare with Bangladesh’s. What is more, it is true that Turkey also needs to import many types of raw materials and silicone auxiliaries from all over the world, the largest importation country is China- over half of some raw materials and chemicals are from China. However, Tukey could be seen as a moderner textile industry player, it is since some parts of its territory are located in Europe (like Istanbul), and it is located in a very high-traffic location, many Europeans, Russians and people from Middle East could directly come to Turkey and share latest fashion or industrial news and experiences which made Turkey could aim at more different levels of designers and purchasers from all over the world. Turkey also has many different bazaars (markets) which are targeting different customer segments.

All in all, we could easily see that silicone oil plays a pretty important role in today’s textile industry and it is according to the differences between the structure of their fabric industries, the corresponding needed silicone oil auxiliaries could also be different- from kinds to quantities.
Thus, it is necessary for a professional silicone oil seller or buyer to focus more on the corresponding market research and know what is the actual specification of the needed silicone oil or even other chemicals.
