It is according to the recent Korean media,Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) recently develops a new silicone-base anode material successfully. The material is used to alternative the graphite materials which are widely used in the power batteries for electrical vehicles. The new anode material could increase the energy capacity to four times as the previous material’s capacity. Even though silicone is not a new material but its energy capacity is more than 10 times than graphite. However, an evident shortage of silicone material is that they will make the battery life way shorter.
The new one developed by KIST has solved the problem. They have dried the silicones and mix them with cornstarch and water then heat them to collect a new type of carbon-silicone compound chemical. The new anode material allows the phone to be charged from 0% to 80% in just 5 minutes.
