Greece proposes to Germany & Austria on building 'Green Energy Cables'

The government of Greece has recently proposed to Germany & Austria for constructing an electrical cable through the whole Greece & Balkan to supply the green electricity to central Europe.

The initial supplying capacity of electricity of the proposed cable could reach 3000 megawatt which will be across Albania and countries in Balkan.

The present Greece’s energy structure has a high percentage of the solar energy, wind power and water power. Greece government’s announced that the capacity of recyclable energies of this year us 3800 megawatt which has a double size of the last year. Their goal is to ensure the recyclable resources could supply 70% of the nation’s whole demand of electricity in 2030.

The international connection of electric nets is one important proposal in Greece. In 2021, Greece, Cyprus & Egypt have negotiated to support the construction on the program of connection of electric nets of Europe & Africa that they plan to build a undersea electrical cable longer than 1,400 kilometers. Greece have also participated in the program of mutual connections between Europe & Asia which will be started in Israel and cross Cyprus and Greece by setting a cable which will be longer than 1,500 kilometers to supply electricity to the E.U. Cyprus government has also proved the 900-kilometer-long cable which will be from Cyprus to the Crete island in Greece.
