FREEPORT, Texas – A fire that ignited at Dow Chemical's facility here on Brazosport Boulevard has been successfully contained, according to company officials. The incident, which occurred on the evening of October 6, prompted reports from local residents of a loud explosion.

In an official statement, Dow confirmed that the blaze was confined to a section known as Factory B. The company assured that there have been no injuries and no impacts detected beyond the plant's boundaries.

Authorities have now launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
